Press Release : Alta Ares Gets NATO Validation for Drone Interception System

Paris, October 30, 2025 – Alta Ares, a French defense technology company, announces NATO validation of its complete anti-drone system during trials at Biscarrosse, alongside preparation to establish a co-production line for interceptor drones in Western France with a Ukrainian background partner.

The result of several intense months of R&D, the "Tactical Protection Domes" designed by French Def Tech company Alta Ares mark a major technological advancement in anti-drone warfare. This solution, validated by NATO during trials conducted at the DGA Missile Testing site in Biscarrosse, has alreadybeen in use on the front lines in Ukraine for several months.

Alta Ares thus confirms the reliability and performance of its solutions in real operational environments.

"The Tactical Protection Domes are the culmination of collaboration between several French, Ukrainian, American, and German defense actors. This success illustrates our ability to design agile, interoperable solutions proven in the field, serving the security of our allies" declares Hadrien Canter, President and Co-founder of Alta Ares.

A multi-layered and autonomous architecture

The Tactical Protection Domes leverage a modular, multi-layered platform integrating Thales and Echodyne tactical radars, mid- and long-range interceptor drones, and Picogrid data fusion platform. Deployed along forward defense zones or borders, the system provides mobile defensive coverage that shields sensitive sites and critical infrastructure from airborne threats. Each interceptor has its own radius of action and integrates the "Pixel Lock" solution. An embedded AI algorithm for autonomous terminal guidance, Pixel Lock enables the identification, tracking, and neutralization of threats without direct human intervention. A true support for armed forces in the challenging task of intercepting drones under demanding conditions.

Mastery of the functional chain

To guarantee European sovereignty and responsiveness, Alta Ares also plans to open a production line for Ukrainian interceptor drones in France. Alta Ares intends to internalize the entire functional chain in France based on feedback from Ukraine, thus ensuring robustness and rapid adaptation to operational needs.
