Position details
- Location: Paris (75017), France (mobility across global offices in NYC and Kyiv)
- Frequent deployments with NATO forces during live exercises and operational missions
- Sector: Defense, Safety, Operations, Crisis Management
- Reports to: Executive Management, while working closely with Head of Deployment, Head of R&D, Head of Software, and Operations teams.
- Contract: CDI (Permanent contract)
Role & Mission
As Head of Safety and Operational Deployment, you will be the operational keystone for integrating and deploying our solutions with military clients while managing all internal and external safety for Alta Ares.
Dual Mission
1. Safety Leadership
Internal Safety:
- Secure all company facilities (Paris, NYC, Kyiv)
- Implement personnel safety programs: background checks, safety clearances, insider threat monitoring
- Establish OPSEC protocols to protect sensitive R&D, intellectual property, and classified information
- Coordinate with cybersecurity project on holistic threat protection
- Manage safety for executive protection and business travel to high-risk zones
- Conduct regular safety audits and vulnerability assessments of all sites
External safety:
- Design and execute safety plans for field deployments in hostile environments (Ukraine, NATO exercises)
- Coordinate with local safety providers and military safety units
- Implement counterintelligence measures against espionage and intelligence threats
- Ensure compliance with defense regulations (ITAR, EAR, EU export controls, GDPR for defense)
2. Operational Deployment
- Lead integration and deployment of Alta Ares solutions with Armed Forces and NATO partners
- Build strategic relationships with military stakeholders
- Coordinate on-site operations during military exercises and trials
- Ensure seamless integration within military operational frameworks
- Manage crisis situations and emergency response protocols
Candidate profile
Education:
10-15 years of experience in safety leadership within defense or military sectors
- Comprehensive safety expertise (physical, operational, personnel, facility protection)
- Direct experience with military operations and NATO procedures
- Proven track record deploying solutions with armed forces
- High mobility and availability (50-60% travel across France, Europe, Ukraine)
- Safety clearance required or ability to obtain
- Strong understanding of defense regulations (ITAR, EAR, EU)
- Crisis management and decision-making under pressure
- Excellent liaison skills with military stakeholders at all levels
- Fluent in English and French; Ukrainian or Russian is a plus
Required Skills & Qualities
- Deep understanding of European and US Armed Forces organization, military doctrine, procurement processes
- Experience with defense tenders, public procurement procedures, and EU/NATO funding mechanisms
- Ability to produce strategic notes, white papers, institutional briefings, and C-level presentations for safety and military leadership
- Comfortable engaging with military personnel, defense officials, and political decision-makers at highest levels
- Entrepreneurial mindset with ability to operate in fast-paced environment
- Discretion and operational safety
Nice to Have
- Background in armed forces (special operations, intelligence, security units)
- Experience in close protection and executive security in conflict zones
- Knowledge of counter-UAS and emerging defense technologies
- Certifications in safety management (CPP, PSP, or equivalent)
- Experience with defense contractors or NATO organizations
