Role & Mission
We are seeking a curious and motivated Data Engineer Intern to join our Data & AIteam and help us design and improve data pipelines powering our ISR & Counter-UAS computer vision products.
This internship is ideal for someone passionate about data infrastructure, scalableingestion pipelines, and efficient dataset management. You will work at theintersection of data engineering and applied AI, ensuring that our teams can accessclean, well-structured, and production-ready datasets to train and deploy state-of-the-art models.
Develop and optimize ingestion pipelines for large-scale images, videos, andsensor data.
Structure and organize datasets (metadata, schema design, annotations) forscalability and accessibility.
Implement data triage and quality checks to ensure reliability of training andevaluation datasets.
Contribute to data storage strategies (databases, buckets, versioning systems)with performance and security in mind.
Automate workflows for annotation, preprocessing, and dataset versioning.
Collaborate with ML Engineers to ensure seamless integration of data pipelinesinto training and deployment workflows.
Document pipelines, best practices, and contribute to building a scalable datainfrastructure for future missions.
Candidate profile
Strong foundations in Python, data science, and machine learning.
Familiarity with ETL/data pipeline tools (Prefect, Airflow, Dagster, or similar).
Knowledge of databases (PostgreSQL, or similar) and cloud storage (GCP, AWS,or similar).
Experience with Docker, Git, and CI/CD practices.
Ability to handle and preprocess large-scale image/video datasets.
Capacity to work autonomously in a research and prototyping environment
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a collaborative, fast-pacedenvironment
Nice to Have
Hands-on experience with MLOps frameworks.
Hands-on experience with data versioning systems (DVC, or similar).
Experience working with annotation platforms (CVAT, Label Studio, etc.).
Interest in defense, aerospace, or dual-use AI applications.
