Position details

  • Based in Paris (mobility across global offices in NYC and Kyiv)
  • Frequent deployments with NATO forces during live exercises
  • Sector: Embedded AI, RNN, MLOps

This role will report directly to the Head of Deployment, while working closely with tech team, including:

  • Head of R&D,
  • Head of Software,
  • Head of Data and their team

Role & Mission

As a Forward Deployment Software Engineer (FDSE), you will combine strong software engineering expertise with hands-on operational deployment. You will not only contribute to the development and optimization of our AI-driven solutions on embedded systems, but also deploy, demonstrate, and integrate them directly with partner forces in real-world environments, particularly in Ukraine.This is a hybrid role requiring technical excellence, adaptability under operational constraints, and the ability to interface directly with strategic partners.

  • Design, develop, and optimize software components in C++ and Java for embedded and edge platforms (Nvidia Jetson, CUDA).
  • Deploy and integrate AI/ML models in constrained, real-time environments.
  • Lead and support on-the-ground demonstrations and field trials with partner militaries.
  • Act as the technical bridge between the engineering team and operational endusers.
  • Troubleshoot and adapt software in degraded or unpredictable field conditions.
  • Provide technical documentation and conduct training for partner operators.

Candidate profile

  • 5+ years of proven experience in a relevant technology domain (software development, hardware integration, autonomy).
  • Experience with Linux-based systems (Nvidia Jetson, mechanical/robotic platforms).
  • Experience working with DevOps tools (git, docker, ..)
  • Strong programming skills in software development using Python, C/C++, or similar programming languages
  • Ability and willingness to travel frequently and work in operational environments (including in Ukraine).
  • Strong problem-solving skills and adaptability under field constraints.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to represent the company with strategic partners.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with real-time applications, robotics, or edge AI, Gstreamer.
  • Knowledge of Python and AI/ML frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, ONNX).
  • Background in defense, security, or military operations.
  • Proficiency in English; Ukrainian or Russian language skills are a plus.
